The Green Cone can be thought of as a food waste disposer unit rather than a composter.
The system is not designed for compost to be harvested, but for safe and easy disposal of all cooked and uncooked food waste, including meat, fish, bones, dairy products, vegetables and fruit.
The patented design of the unit utilises a solar heating effect between the inner and outer cones to promote air circulation, which facilitates the growth of beneficial micro-organisms and the desirable aerobic digestion process.
The household food waste is converted into water, carbon dioxide and a small amount residue that will only need to be removed every few years in a well operated Green Cone.

Over 90% of the waste material will be absorbed into the soil as water

The Green Cone is a four-part injection moulded unit comprising of a lower basket installed below ground and forming the base for an upper assembly, consisting of a black inner cone and a green outer lidded plastic cone.
The diameter of the outer Green Cone is 55cm at its base and 29cm at the lid end.
The in-ground food waste digestion chamber is 44cm deep and the Green Cone stands less than 65cm above the ground.
